Leaf size and quality increase dramatically with vertical climbing support and overall maturity. An elevated position is essential to allow the pendant leaves to hang freely to their full length. Light: Bright but genuinely soft indirect light — the dark velvet surface is sensitive to bleaching under harsh exposure. Deepest coloration develops under consistent gentle indirect light. Soil: Very open, chunky epiphytic mix of orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir with excellent drainage and aeration; waterlogging is the primary cultivation failure. TemperatureHumidity: Cool to warm temperatures between 60-78°F with meaningful day-to-night differential; high humidity of 70-80%+ is non-negotiable — edge browning is the first symptom of insufficient humidity.
