Anthurium Emerald Throne Anthurium forgetii × Anthurium papillilaminum A hybrid between A. forgetii — known for its closed or nearly closed sinus and rounded, lobeless leaf outline — and A. papillilaminum, which contributes leaf substance and dark coloration. The cross produces broad, heart-shaped leaves with a smooth, glossy surface and prominent bright green venation that contrasts against a rich dark green background, topped with a green flowering spadix. Noted for excellent adaptability. Individual seedling expression varies. Light: Bright, filtered indirect light enhances the prominent green venation and glossy leaf surface; avoid direct sun which damages the foliage. Soil: Open, chunky epiphytic mix of orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir with excellent drainage and aeration; never waterlogged. TemperatureHumidity: Warm, stable temperatures between 65-79°F; high humidity of 70-80% is essential for maintaining the glossy surface and healthy growth. Watering: Keep consistently moist but well-draining — allow only the top inch to approach dryness between waterings. Never waterlog; never allow to dry out fully. Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer supplemented with calcium every 4-6 weeks during active growth; dilute to half strength. Reduce in winter.
