Aglaonema Black Diana Aglaonema 'Black Diana' A dark-foliage Aglaonema cultivar — a Chinese Evergreen native to the tropical and subtropical forests of Southeast Asia and New Guinea — grown for its deep, near-black green leaves with dark red to burgundy veining and margins. A compact, clumping, self-heading grower and one of the more genuinely low-maintenance tropical foliage plants available, tolerating a wider range of indoor conditions than most collector aroids. Light: Moderate to bright indirect light supports the best growth and deepest coloration; the dark-leaved forms tolerate lower light better than the vividly variegated types. Never direct sun. Soil: Well-draining potting mix with added perlite; good aeration and drainage are beneficial. Never waterlogged. TemperatureHumidity: Warm temperatures between 65-80°F; does not tolerate cold drafts or temperatures below 55°F. Average household humidity is sufficient though 50-60% supports the best growth. Watering: Water thoroughly when the top 1-2" of medium is dry; reduce in winter. More forgiving of underwatering than overwatering — never allow to sit in standing water. Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during active growth; reduce or stop in winter. Avoid over-fertilizing which causes salt buildup and leaf tip burn.
