🔥🐉 Alocasia ‘Dragon’s Breath’ (al-oh-KAY-sha) 🐉🔥

Also known as: Alocasia heterophylla ‘Dragon’s Breath’, Dragon’s Tongue Alocasia.

This silvery-blue jewel alocasia lives up to its fiery name with pointed leaves that shimmer like dragon scales in moonlight. A rare find, it adds a mystical, almost otherworldly vibe to any collection.

💡 Care Tips:

☀️ Light – Lots of bright, indirect light is best. Direct sun can scorch the foliage.

💧 Water – Keep soil evenly moist but not soggy; consistency is important! This plant will be shipped to you in our homemade semi-hydro set up! (Sphagnum Moss, pumice, orchid bark & biochar for anti-compactionaeration, fungal mitigation above a LECA-clay balls- water reservoir)

🌡️ Humidity – Prefers high humidity (55%+); may sulk in dry air without extra support. Humidifiers are your friend!

🌱 Growth – Can reach 18–24 inches tall with larger leaves as it matures.

📊 Difficulty: Intermediate–High (sensitive to water and humidity changes).

🐾 Pet Safety: Toxic if ingested (can cause irritation and stomach upset). All pets are unique and reactions may vary in symptoms and severity.

🌟 Collector’s Fun Fact:

It’s not from the wild — it’s a cultivated hybrid.

‘Dragon’s Breath’ is a horticultural hybrid bred for its metallic, scale-like leaves, believed to originate from Alocasia heterophylla, a species native to the Philippines. The base species grows in humid tropical forests at low to mid elevations.

It began circulating through specialty growers around 2022–2023, first appearing in Asian and European collector markets before becoming available through tropical plant retailers in the U.S. by 2024.

Growers Choice- Photos may not depict the exact plant you will receive; colors and size may vary. You will receive the healthiest and best-looking plant from your size selection.
