This Philodendron is beloved for its long, elegant, lance-shaped leaves that deepen into rich burgundy-red on the undersides as they mature. The top surface stays a sleek, earthy green — creating a striking two-tone contrast every time the leaves sway. As it climbs, it becomes dramatic and sculptural, especially once it begins producing larger, elongated leaves with age.

Care Tips 🌤️💧

• Light: Bright, indirect light for best color and growth.

💧 Water – Alocasia love consistency! Keep soil evenly moist but never soggy. This plant will be shipped to you in our homemade semi-hydro set up! (Sphagnum Moss, pumice, orchid bark & biochar for anti-compactionaeration, fungal mitigation above a LECA-clay balls- water reservoir). If you’d like to transition to a different medium, a chunky aroid mix is great! Allow the top 1-2 inches to dry between watering.

• Humidity: Prefers 60–75%. Use a humidifier or pebble tray nearby.

• Soil: A chunky, fast-draining aroid mix (bark + perlite + coco + a touch of sphagnum).

• Support: Give it a moss pole or totem to see longer and more dramatic leaves as it matures.

Collector’s Trivia 🧠✨

This species was first documented in the upper Rio Atabapo region near the Venezuela–Colombia border. Its deep red leaf backing is believed to help the plant regulate light absorption, allowing it to thrive in high canopy shade where sunlight flickers in patches through the forest.
