Product description

Cryptocoryne Wendtii Sreepadma Sindoor, also known as Sindoor, is a bright

orange Cryptocoryne that has captivated the aquarium community with its stunning

coloration. Developed from Cryptocoryne Wendtii Brown and stabilized in a lab to

ensure consistent mutation, Sindoor exhibits rich maroon to pink tones under

optimal conditions. This relatively new variation has quickly become sought

after for its unique appearance and vibrant colors. However, it is notoriously

difficult to grow, with many aquarists struggling to cultivate it successfully.

Sindoor thrives under specific conditions that mimic its natural habitat,

requiring a nutrient-rich substrate and moderate to high lighting to maintain

its vivid colors. Despite being a challenging plant to grow, its striking

foliage makes it a rewarding addition for those willing to put in the effort.

The plant's growth is slow to medium, and it propagates through runners,

allowing new plants to be separated and replanted. Due to its difficulty,

Sindoor is recommended for experienced aquarists who are familiar with the

nuances of Cryptocoryne care and can provide the stable environment it needs to

flourish.

Many people have had difficulty with the UNS Cryptocoryne Sindoor tissue

cultures, however, these cultures come from the actual Sreepadma company, in

form of their GroWoW! series tissue cultures.
