Eriocaulon Quinquangulare, also known as Eriocaulon King Crimson, is a

captivating aquatic plant species prized for its vivid crimson coloration and

striking foliage. Native to Southeast Asia, this rare and highly sought-after

plant is a favorite among aquarists for its vibrant red tones and unique

appearance. Its leaves are thin, elongated, and radiate outwards in a circular

fashion, resembling a spiky crimson starburst. When properly cared for, the

plant’s deep crimson hues stand out beautifully against the green foliage of

other aquarium plants, adding a splash of color to any aquascape.

Eriocaulon Quinquangulare thrives in stable water conditions, preferring soft,

acidic water with a pH range of 5.0 to 7.0 and a temperature of 22-28°C

(72-82°F). It is highly demanding in terms of care, requiring nutrient-rich

substrate, high light, and CO2 supplementation to maintain its vibrant red hues.

Despite its slow growth rate, the plant is known to propagate through side

shoots and may occasionally produce flower stalks when fully submerged. Due to

its rarity and the attention it requires, Eriocaulon Quinquangulare is often

regarded as a plant for more advanced aquarists who are up for the challenge of

maintaining its beauty.
