Product description

Alocasia ‘Loco’ was introduced by Deroose Plants in Florida and first appeared

at the Tropical Plant International Expo in 2010. Believed to be a hybrid of A.

sanderiana and A. longiloba ‘Watsoniana’, likely arising as a mutation of

Alocasia ‘Mandalay’ (itself linked to ‘Polly’), it largely disappeared from

cultivation before being reintroduced through tissue culture in 2023. It forms a

compact plant with triangular leaves, ruffled margins, and sharp white veining

over deep green. The combination of its undulating edges and silvery venation

gives it a distinct look compared to smoother jewel types, while its smaller

size makes it well suited to tighter growing spaces.
