Product description

The Musa 'Florida' is a striking tropical plant characterized by its lush, broad

leaves and vibrant fruit. This variety is well-known for its stunning albo

variegation, with large, elongated leaves displaying a high-contrast mix of

bright green and white patterns. Particularly adapted to Florida’s warm climate,

it can grow up to 10 feet tall and thrives in its native tropical and

subtropical regions where it has access to well-drained soil and full sun

exposure. It flourishes in humid conditions and requires regular watering to

support its growth, eventually producing fruit that is smaller and sweeter than

traditional bananas, making it a favorite for fresh consumption and tropical

desserts.

Expect some browning on the leaves. This is typical of variegated bananas. The

cream tissue carries little to no chlorophyll, which makes it thinner and more

delicate than green tissue, so it browns at the margins and along variegated

sections more readily, particularly on the most heavily variegated leaves.
