Sarracenia Purpurea also known as "The Purple Pitcher Plant" is an easy growing form of Sarracenia with low forming pitchers. It grows natively in the Southeastern United States. The pitchers it produces can last for years and as they mature turn a dark redpurple. Additionally, if you get up close, you can see some of the mesmerizing tactics that the Sarracenia uses to keep its prey inside -- its downward pointing hairs. These clones are non-specific varieties but we have found that they are producing beautiful veining much like the Venosa variant. In terms of dormancy, this Sarracenia will typically keep many of its pitchers throughout the winter months and also manages to need a shorter dormancy period. Grows great in full sun and warmer climates.These come pre-potted with sphagnum moss in a 3.5" pot.
