Hoya patella (Pink Flower) IML-1096 is an exceptional species for collectors who enjoy growing uncommon tropical hoyas with unique care preferences. Native to the warm, shaded forests of Papua New Guinea, this rooted cutting arrives in a 2-inch pot with new growth already started, giving you a healthy head start. Its attractive foliage and beautiful pink flowers make it a rewarding plant for patient growers looking to expand their rare Hoya collection. Hoya patella (Pink Flower) IML-1096 Rooted Cutting Care & Details Origin: Hoya patella is a naturally occurring Hoya species from Papua New Guinea, rather than a man-made hybrid. IML-1096 is the accessioncollection identifier associated with this particular plant in circulation. Its Papua New Guinea origin also fits well with what I have observed in cultivation: this Hoya seems happiest with an unusual-for-Hoyas combination of warm temperatures, elevated humidity, and relatively shaded light. Leaves: Hoya patella has green, elliptic to oblong pubescent leaves arranged oppositely along the stem. The foliage is relatively understated compared with highly variegated or silver Hoyas, which makes the plant's unusual pink flowers the main attraction. Flowers: Produces attractive pink flowers that are one of this clone's standout features. Like many hoyas, the blooms appear in clusters and can last for several days under good growing conditions. Growth Rate: Moderate growth when provided with consistent warmth, humidity, and stable conditions. Watering: Water when the potting mix is mostly dry. Avoid allowing the roots to remain soggy for extended periods. Light: Prefers bright, indirect light but also performs well in shadier conditions than many hoyas. This plant grows well about 12 inches below a single Barrina T5 light for approximately 14 hours per day. Ideal Temperature & Humidity: Thrives around 75°F with 60–65% humidity. This species appreciates consistently warm temperatures and higher humidity. General Hoya Care: New to growing hoyas?
