Hoya ruthiae was discovered in Borneo in 2015 by Michele Rodda and named after Dr. Ruth Kiew who is a renowned tropical botanist at the Forest Institute of Malaysia. This Hoya species can be somewhat difficult to grow, as it naturally grows on limestone formations in Borneo. It needs a very well draining mix and high humidity to really thrive. Commonly known as Wax Plant, Hoyas are easy to grow indoor vining plants that produce beautiful blooms. Hoya ruthiae care: This plant prefers a well draining soil that is rich in organic matter. Let the soil dry out between watering, taking care not to allow it to sit in water. Make sure to give your new Hoya plenty of bright indirect light for optimal growth.
