Peperomia 'Midnight Wave' is an absolute stunner featuring deeply puckered, corrugated leaves that form dense, metallic rosettes. The foliage is an incredibly dark, near-black charcoal green on top, contrasted beautifully by rich, glowing burgundy-red undersides and dark crimson petioles.
☀️ Light: Medium to Bright, Indirect. While it can tolerate lower light than variegated varieties, bright indirect light keeps the rosette dense, the ridges deep, and the under-leaf red incredibly vibrant. Avoid direct sun.
💧 Water: Allow to dry out significantly. Like most thick-leaved Peperomias, it stores moisture in its foliage. Allow the top 50%–70% of the pot to dry completely before giving it a thorough soak.
☁️ Humidity: 40%–60%. Very easy-going and thrives perfectly in average household humidity. It does not require a cabinet to look flawless.
🪴 Substrate: Light, airy, and sharply draining. A premium aroid mix or a soil blend heavily amended with perlite and orchid bark is perfect for its shallow root system.
Tip: When blooming, it sends up unique, alien-looking greenish-mouse-tail flower spikes that add to its prehistoric, oddball charm.
