A mineral‑forward substrate designed for Mexican Pinguicula that prefer a lighter, airier base. My Deluxe Mix uses a bottom layer of lava rock for drainage and stability, topped with a 2:1 blend of perlite and Fluval Stratum to support healthy roots and steady growth.
This mix is ideal for growers who like a clean, structured potting setup with excellent drainage and a tidy mineral look. Each batch is measured and blended by hand in my cozy cloffice.
(The lava rock may have a bit of natural dust from handling. It won’t affect water quality; the dust simply settles at the bottom of the pot and stays inert. Your plant’s roots sit in the airy top layer, where they get the moisture and airflow they need.)
