New growth can emerge with vibrant pink, especially with more light. It is a perennial, stem-rooting climber or trailing vine, suitable for hanging baskets or training on a trellis or moss pole. Indoors, it can reach lengths of 3 to 6 feet or more. Mature plants (usually after a couple of years) produce spherical clusters of small, star-shaped, waxy flowers that are pale pink with red centers and a sweet fragrance, especially in the evening.

Krimson Queen' vs. 'Krimson Princess': The 'Krimson Queen' has variegation along the margins of the leaves and green centers, while the 'Krimson Princess' has variegation in the center of the leaves and green edges.
