Product description
This epiphytic orchid from Ecuador produces pendant clusters of golden-yellow flowers with delicately spotted lips. Its downward-growing flower spikes make it especially attractive in a hanging basket. Light: Moderate to bright, filtered light near an east-facing window or beneath greenhouse shade. Avoid strong direct midday sun. Temperature: Intermediate-growing; 60–80°F (16–27°C), with slightly cooler nights. Humidity: 60–80%, with steady, gentle air circulation. Watering: Keep the growing medium evenly moist during active growth, allowing it to approach dryness between waterings without drying out completely. Use an airy bark and sphagnum mix, and reduce watering slightly when growth slows. Additional Notes: Pleated green leaves emerge from pseudobulbs. Grow in a slatted or mesh basket so developing flower spikes can emerge freely beneath the plant; avoid dense media or containers that obstruct them.
