The bleeding tooth nerite (Nerites peloronta) is a snail with a shell that can grow to be about two inches long. The shell is thick, short-spired, and has a reddish, creamy, or yellow color.

Appearance:

The shell has a red color on the left side of the aperture, which looks like a bleeding tooth when combined with the white background

The shell has darker streaks or zigzags

The shell has an area of red coloration next to the "teeth"

Common on the rocky shores of the Caribbean and the East Coast of Florida
