WHY SELF-WATERING?
-Increases humidity: water wicking cotton rope and PVC reservoir system moistens moss. No more dragging heavy pots outdoors or into the tub to wet moss poles.
-Grow bigger leaves: some plants, when given something to climb, will develop bigger leaves and some even fenestrations!
PREVENTING MOLD GROWTH:
-Before installing, ensure bottom cap is attached tightly. You do not want your substrate to enter the pole.
-Allow pole reservoir to dry out regularly (you can still spray the outside like a normal moss pole)
-Flush stagnant water on watering day
-Only use filtered water to refill your pole
-Add a few teaspoons of hydrogen peroxide or tiny bit of bleach to kill any bacterial growth
