This species described from the Kuna Yala territory in 2023 is sympatric with A. ochranthum but presents several very distinct characteristics, including a D shaped petiole, very small inflorescence and only 2-3 basal veins at most.
Hybrids will soon be available, as this species was first cultivated in Miami for pure breeds distributed amongst local friends.
