Product description

Alocasia ‘Jacklyn’ makes a striking statement with deeply lobed green leaves, dark contrasting veins, and a finely textured surface. Patterned petioles add another layer of detail, giving this plant a sculptural presence from leaf to stem. Known botanically as Alocasia tandurusa, it is a distinctive choice for collectors who enjoy attentive tropical plant care.Care guide Light: Provide bright, indirect light. Avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch the leaves. Water: Water when the top 1–2 inches of potting mix begin to dry. Keep the root zone lightly moist, not saturated, and let excess water drain completely. Soil: Use an airy, well-draining aroid mix with ingredients such as potting soil, orchid bark, and perlite. A pot with drainage holes is essential. Humidity: Prefers elevated humidity, ideally around 60% or higher, with gentle airflow. A humidifier is more effective than misting. Temperature: Keep in a warm, stable environment around 65–85°F. Protect from cold drafts and drying vents. Feeding: Apply a balanced houseplant fertilizer at half strength monthly during active growth. Pause feeding if growth stops. Seasonal growth: Growth may slow or the plant may shed leaves in cooler, darker conditions. Reduce watering to match its lower moisture use, but do not assume a leafless plant is dead if the corm remains firm. Pet safety: Contains insoluble calcium oxalate crystals and is toxic to cats and dogs if chewed or ingested. Keep away from pets and children. Care tip: Check leaf undersides regularly for spider mites. Consistent warmth, suitable humidity, and careful watering help this Alocasia perform at its best.
