Product description

Cyphostemma betiforme is a rare caudiciform species native to dry regions of East Africa that develops a swollen, water-storing base and produces climbing, vining stems during the growing season. The plant is valued by collectors for its distinctive foliage—thick, often somewhat fleshy leaves that can appear beet-like in shape, which is reflected in the species name betiforme. During warm months it grows actively, sending out tendrils and small clusters of flowers that may later form berries, while in cooler or dry periods it can become partially deciduous and retreat to its caudex. Like many members of the grape family (Vitaceae), it prefers bright light, warmth, and very well-draining soil, making it well suited to caudiciform collections and container cultivation.

Will be shipped with a little soil and mostly sphagnum moss.
