Anthurium warocqueanum × crystallinum ‘Crystal Blush’
(pronounced: an-THUR-ee-um war-oh-KEE-an-um × kris-tal-LEE-num)
Also known as: Queen × Crystal Blush Hybrid
This hybrid blends the regal elongation of A. warocqueanum (Queen Anthurium) with the velvety shimmer and pink-blushed venation of Crystal Blush. New leaves often emerge with a soft rose tone, slowly deepening into rich olive-green with a silvery velvet sheen. Over time, leaves tend to narrow and lengthen more than a standard crystallinum, but remain more manageable than a full Queen — making this one of the most sought-after “intermediate” luxury hybrids for collectors.
Care Tips
• Light: Bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sun on leaves (it can scorch the velvet).
Water – Alocasia love consistency! Keep soil evenly moist but never soggy. This plant will be shipped to you in our homemade semi-hydro set up! (Sphagnum Moss, pumice, orchid bark & biochar for anti-compactionaeration, fungal mitigation above a LECA-clay balls- water reservoir). If you’d like to transition to a different medium, a chunky aroid mix is great! Allow the top 1-2 inches to dry between watering.
• Humidity: Thrives 65–80%. Use a humidifier or a pebble tray nearby.
• Soil: Chunky aroid mix (orchid bark + perlite + coco husk + a touch of sphagnum).
• Fertilizer: Low-strength, balanced fertilizer during active growth (¼–½ strength).
• Temperature: Prefers 68–78°F — avoid drafts and cold nights.
Difficulty & Pet Safety
• Difficulty: Intermediate — appreciates steady humidity and gentle, consistent care.
• Pet Safety: Not pet-safe if chewed (contains calcium oxalate crystals).
Collector’s Tip
This hybrid shows leaf-size potential over time, not immediately. The second and third leaves after settling are usually the ones where the pink blush and veining become dramatically more defined. Be patient — the glow develops.
