Beautiful variegation! Well rooted in pon! Ships with plank and self watering pot! She is acclimated to normal room temperature and humidity. Please read shop guidelines!
***Plant Information, PLEASE READ***
Unless otherwise noted, my plants are in self-watering pots in a straight pon or pon mixed with Leca. The pon brands I use are as follows: Blackstone Lechuza Pon, Regular Lechuza Pon, and Bonzai Jack's universal organic bonsai soil mix--it all depends on the plant for which option I choose as some are in straight pon, ponleca, or a 5050 mix between Jack'sLechuza. Pon is my substrate of choice and I have had excellent luck with it, however, that does not mean it will work for everyone's situation--that is OK! At times, I will also make my own DIY Pon mix which I plan to offer for sale in the near future!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE allow your new plant baby to acclimate to its new home for at least a week or two, prior to transplanting; this will help to lessen the shock from recently being shipped and placed into a new environment. Shipping is stressful on plants NO MATTER how awesome we try to package them; occasionally you will have a yellowing leaf, edema, or a possible bent leaf. Your plant WILL be OK! Just give it some time to acclimate and come back--they are much more resilient than you think!
Most of my plants are acclimated to normal room temperature and humidity; we live in VA. If the plant lives in our IKEA grow cabinet, it will be noted in the description! Our home stays around 68-70 degrees in the summer with approximately 68-75% humidity. In the winter we do run humidifiers as it becomes very dry here during that time.
Our plants are accustomed to having plenty of light! Natural and artificial! I love the SANSI lights personally, but have Barrina T5s in my grow cabinets. They have light at least 14 hours per day! If it is warm outside occasionally they will spend some time on our front porch in indirect sunlight (NOT direct, this will burn their leaves).
We fertilize our plants everytime we water, and I NEVER let my self-waterers dry out, especially for Alocasia! Plants love to eat, especially Alocasia and Monstera which is my hobby! Below are the mixes I use and I do rotate sometimes so my bougie Alocasia stay happy!
#1 Mix Per 1 gallon:5mls GTS Silica, 10mls (winter) and 15mls (springsummer) GT Foliage Focus, 2mls Hydroguard, 2mls CalMag, 2 mls Rapidstart, and a drop or two of BMC (biological mosquito control which prevents fungus gnats).#2 Mix Per 1 gallon (my personal favorite):5mls GTS Silica, 14 teaspoon Jacks 20-20-20, 2mls Hydroguard, 2mls CalMag, 2 mls Rapidstart, and a drop or two of BMC (biological mosquito control which prevents fungus gnats).***For corms I only use the "puddle" method as I have GREAT success with it--I will add 2mls Rapidstart to 1 gallon of water (we have a well so I use our tap) --mix well, and then just put enough water in the cup so the corm is sitting in it but not drowning; they go on a seedling mat in my grow cabinet, and have light 14 hours per day.For TC's I have used Fluval and Perlite, but have had better success with Lechuza Pon and have recently started them and my leafy, rooting corms in pon.
All of my plants are semi-hydro; it just works for me!
Unless otherwise stated, all plants are shipped exactly as seen in the photosvideos. Meaning with their moss poles and pot. **It will always be listed if they are not going to come exactly as shown**. If the plant is REALLY large, and in pon you will be responsible for paying shipping overages OR you have the choice to have me ship it in high quality moss!
Established plants are sprayed with Leaf Luxe purchased from Brittany's Urban Oasis (HIGHLY recommend their products) at every OTHER watering--this keeps the leaves shiny and healthy; pest management. We also use their PhytoFoliar spray fertilizer at night once every other week and prior to putting it in the box for shipment--something for them to feed on during their journey!
Remember I do use beneficial bugs but all plants are wiped down well with LeafLuxe prior to shipping, however, you still could receive a hitchhiker or two! They will not hurt you, they only help.
Thank you for taking the time to read the above! Happy Shopping!
Love,
The Plant Nuk aka MICHELE!
