The quintessential carnivorous plant, the Venus flytrap is native only to far southern North Carolina and a tiny bit of upper coastal South Carolina. Their care is easy, given the right conditions. They won’t full sun and need to be standing in rainwater or distilled water at all times. Grow these outdoors, where they can capture insects, don’t fertilize them, and they will do wonderfully for you. In winter, they need a cool break with slightly dry conditions, so that they can go dormant for a couple of months, in order to put on a more wonderful display the next season.
