🌿🩵 Epipremnum giganteum ‘Mint’

Description & Rarity: Epipremnum giganteum ‘Mint’ is a rare and highly collectible Epipremnum prized for its enormous tropical foliage and beautiful mint-toned coloration. Unlike the familiar vining pothos, E. giganteum develops large, elongated leaves and a much more substantial growth habit as it matures. The Mint form can display gorgeous combinations of green, pale green, mint, and silvery-green coloration, giving the foliage a soft, washed appearance. Its unusual coloration and impressive mature size make it a standout collector aroid. 🌿🩵✨

☀️ LIGHT: Provide very bright, indirect light. Strong filtered light supports healthy growth and the best mint coloration. Gentle morning sun can be beneficial, but avoid intense afternoon sunlight, particularly on paler portions of the foliage.

💧 WATER: Water thoroughly when the top 1–2 inches of substrate have dried. Allow excess water to drain completely. Keep moisture relatively consistent during active growth without allowing the roots to remain continuously saturated.

💦 HUMIDITY: Prefers approximately 60–80% humidity. Higher humidity encourages larger leaves and smoother unfurling, although established plants can adapt to moderate household humidity.

🌡️ TEMPERATURE: Maintain approximately 68–85°F (20–29°C). Warm, stable conditions encourage vigorous growth and larger foliage. Protect from cold drafts and prolonged temperatures below approximately 60°F.

🪴 SOIL: Use a chunky, airy, fast-draining aroid mix. Orchid bark, coco chipscoir, perlite or pumice, and quality potting mix make an excellent combination. Mature plants develop substantial root systems and appreciate excellent root-zone oxygenation.

🩵 MINT COLORATION: Mint expression can vary between successive leaves and may range from subtle pale-green washes to much stronger mint coloration. Bright filtered light helps showcase the coloration, but genetics ultimately determine its expression.

🌿 MATURE FOLIAGE: This plant can become BIG. As Epipremnum giganteum matures, successive leaves can become dramatically larger and more impressive. Juvenile plants may look relatively modest compared with their mature form.

🧗 SUPPORT: Provide a sturdy moss pole, plank, or other vertical support as the plant develops. Allowing it to climb and establish itself vertically encourages larger, more mature foliage.

🌱 FERTILIZER: Feed with a balanced fertilizer at ¼–½ strength every 2–3 weeks during active growth. Larger, actively growing specimens appreciate consistent nutrition.

✂️ PROPAGATION: Propagate from stem cuttings containing at least one viable node. Root in sphagnum, perlite, water, or another airy propagation medium. Warm temperatures and elevated humidity encourage successful rooting.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Avoid chronically wet substrate and oversized pots that remain wet for extended periods. Inspect new growth regularly for thrips, spider mites, scale, and mealybugs.
