**BVEP × Fort Sherman Velvet Anthurium Seedling**

This listing is for a seedling from my **BVEP × Fort Sherman** cross.

**BVEP** stands for **Black Velvet Eastern Panama**, the collector shorthand for the dark velvet Anthurium now referred to as ***Anthurium antolakii***, named in honor of Rory Antolak. My BVEP parent came from **Tezula Plants**, a respected Florida rare plant grower and breeder known in the collector Anthurium community.

The Fort Sherman parent is my Fort Sherman-type ***Anthurium papillilaminum***, originally obtained from **Nice Plants Good Pots of New Orleans**, with likely provenance tracing back to **Jay Vannini**. Fort Sherman material is well known among velvet Anthurium collectors for its elongated leaf form, dark mature coloration, velvet texture, and pink to reddish venation, including attractive coloration on the abaxial leaf surface.

This cross brings together two exceptional dark Panamanian velvet Anthurium lines: the refined, dark velvet character of BVEP *A. antolakii* and the elongated, richly veined Fort Sherman-type *A. papillilaminum*. These seedlings are still young, so their final adult phenotype is not fully expressed yet, but the parentage gives them excellent potential.

Expected mature traits may include:

* Dark velvet foliage

* Elongated leaf shape

* Bullated or textured leaf surface

* Pink to reddish venation

* Strong contrast as the plant matures

* Robust growth compared with some more delicate velvet Anthurium types

These are **seed-grown plants**, so each seedling is genetically unique. I expect variation between individuals, which is part of what makes this cross especially interesting.

Grown warm and humid in an airy aroid mix. As with most velvet Anthuriums, avoid cold temperatures, stagnant wet media, and harsh direct light.
