This red, green, and orange iridescent Rainbow Scarab beetle sits on top of a piece of wood with a quartz chunk and a little button snail shell that gives an opal-y shine!
This beetle is a female, as males have large horns on top of their head. These dungs beetles can be found all throughout eastern and central North America. They feed on the dung of livestock and other animals, and are often easily spotted due to their gorgeous coloration❤️. They play a very important role in our ecosystem: keeping animal waste to a minimum! This little one was sourced out of a pool, unfortunately already passed away.
