A rare and elegant species from Central American cloud forests, prized for its elongated, glossy leaves and its ability to produce delicate, sweetly fragrant flower clusters that reward patient growers. Light: Bright indirect light. Thrives near an east or west-facing window. Avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch the foliage. Temperature: Intermediate to warm-growing. Prefers 60–85°F (15–29°C). Protect from temperatures below 55°F (13°C) and cold drafts. Humidity: 50–70%. Tolerates average household humidity but benefits from higher levels to encourage vigorous growth and blooming. Watering: Allow the top half of the substrate to dry out between waterings. Hoyas are semi-succulent and sensitive to overwatering — well-draining mix is essential. Growth Habit: Vining and trailing — stems elongate readily and can be trained up a trellis or allowed to cascade from a hanging basket. Additional Notes:Leaves are firm, glossy, and lance-shaped with a deep green coloration. Given adequate light and a slightly root-bound condition, it produces umbels of small, star-shaped flowers with a pleasant fragrance. Do not remove old peduncles (flower spurs), as new blooms emerge from the same points each season.
