🌿 WELCOME TO FLORA 4 FAUNA Flora 4 Fauna is a certified nursery in Port St. Lucie, Florida, specializing in pet-friendly plants with a very heavy emphasis on Hoyas. Come hang out with us on Instagram: _flora4fauna_ 📦 OPEN BOXES + SHIPPING Your box can stay open all week long so you can keep shopping and add to it as new goodies pop up. Open boxes close every Sunday at 11:00 AM. Orders generally head out Monday and Tuesday via UPS, with expedited options available if you need your plant babies home a little faster. If you’re in a very rural area or UPS does not service your location, USPS may also be available. Just look for that option in the shop. 🐞 A LITTLE ABOUT HOW WE GROW I’m the chapter head for DMV Beneficials of South Florida, and beneficial insects are a regular part of life in our growing area. That means your plants are raised in a living ecosystem rather than being routinely drenched in pesticides. You may occasionally spot a tiny beneficial friend along for the ride. You may also find springtails busy at work in some pots. They’re harmless little members of our clean-up crew and help break down organic matter in the soil. 💚 LIVE ARRIVAL I take a lot of pride in packing your plants carefully and getting them to you happy and healthy. Live arrival is guaranteed when there are no carrier delays or extreme weather events and any required weather protection has been purchased. To qualify, please bring your package inside within 15 minutes of the carrier’s delivery timestamp. If something doesn’t look right when your plant arrives, please contact me the same day and send an unpacking video so I can see exactly what happened and help. 🌱 YOUR PLANT JUST TOOK A VERY LONG NAP Shipping is weird for plants. Your new baby has just spent a few days tucked into a dark box getting bounced around on its journey home, so give it a little time to decompress. Slowly reintroduce it to your lighting conditions and, whenever possible, resist the urge to repot immediately. A little patience goes a long way. 💕 Soft, brand-new leaves are especially delicate. We do everything we can to protect them, but tender leaves that haven’t hardened yet may occasionally show some shipping stress. 🪴 STARTER PLANTS Our starter plants come in transparent pots so you can actually watch the roots grow. For the best success, let those roots fill in before upsizing. A good rule of thumb is to wait until you can see roots along all four sides of the pot. Tiny pot, happy roots, happy Hoya. 🌿 ✂️ CUTTINGS Cuttings can be a little dramatic. Depending on the thickness of the leaf, they may look slightly sunken or less plump right before they begin producing roots. Cuttings taken at the time of purchase may also look a little different by shipping day. Give them time, warmth and TLC and they should perk back up and get to work. 💕 Because rooting is a natural process, however, successful rooting can never be absolutely guaranteed. ❄️ COLD WEATHER SHIPPING When the temperatures drop, our tropical babies need a little extra help getting home safely. If your temperatures are dropping into the: 40s: Please add insulation 30s: Please add heat + insulation 20s: UPS Next Day + heat & insulation are required The only winter shipping guarantee I can offer is with UPS Next Day delivery. Please check your forecast before your box ships. Your Hoya would much rather be cozy than brave. 😂 ♻️ PACKAGING WITH A SECOND LIFE We love Mother Earth almost as much as we love plants. Whenever possible, I reuse clean boxes and packing materials rather than sending perfectly good materials to the landfill. So if your box has lived a previous life, consider it part of the Flora 4 Fauna recycling program. 🌎💚 🌿 A FEW LAST LITTLE THINGS Trellises are not included with plants, although sometimes a nicer one sneaks into the box and goes home with you. 😊 I reserve the right to cancel an order if necessary.
