After wood-firing, the pots spend over a year aging in a misty greenhouse, where a natural moss patina slowly develops across the surface. Cured with a buttermilk and moss solution and nurtured in greenhouse conditions for over twelve months, these unique pots arrive already alive with dormant moss. Once planted in a moisture-retentive soil and watered regularly, the moss will gradually awaken and continue to grow, creating a lush green living surface that becomes more beautiful with time. Three Ways to Enjoy Your Living Pot: 1. Maximize Moss Growth Plant moisture-loving plants such as ferns, begonias, African violets, or annual flowers in a moisture-retentive soil.
