2. Imitation Firearms: Keeping It Clear
Even items that look like firearms can cause confusion and concern. Here's what we don't allow:
- Any imitation firearm that fires projectiles with the potential to cause injury
- Imitation firearms that realistically resemble actual firearms (even with safety markings)
- Digital files that can be used to create imitation firearms or parts
- Any item that is prohibited under applicable law
This specifically includes:

- Brightly colored or transparent toy guns
- Certain non-firing replica antique firearms
- Toy guns with permanent safety markings that don't resemble actual firearms
3. Knives: Cutting Through the Confusion
While many knives serve legitimate purposes, we don't permit those designed primarily for violence or concealment:
- Knives with ejectable blades, such as ballistic knives
- Automatic opening knives, such as switchblades and OTF knives
- Knives that open with centrifugal force, such as butterfly/balisong knives
- Concealed knives disguised as other objects
- Hidden hand blades, such as knuckleduster knives and push daggers
- Any knife marketed as intended for violence, self-defense, or personal protection
Utility, kitchen, craft, and hobby knives are generally welcome in our community when properly categorized and marketed for their intended purposes.
4. Hand Weapons: Keeping Hands Friendly
Items designed to cause harm in close-quarters situations aren't permitted on Palmstreet. These include:
- Clubs or batons (billy clubs, leaded canes, nightsticks, police batons)
- Brass knuckles or knuckle dusters
- Kubotans and self-defense sticks
- Pepper spray
- Nunchaku (nunchuks)
- Shuriken

We recognize that many Palmstreet community members enjoy outdoor activities like hunting and archery. Equipment for these purposes may be permitted when properly categorized and compliant with all applicable laws.
However, items designed primarily to cause harm, like explosives or poisons, have no place on our platform.
