πΏ Heliamphora Minor - Sun Pitcher Plant - 2" Pot
Heliamphora minor, also called the Lesser Sun Pitcher, is a small, carnivorous marsh pitcher plant endemic to the AuyΓ‘n-tepui highlands of Venezuela. It's one of the smallest species in the genus, producing short, broad, cylindrical urn-shaped pitchers in red-tinted green, with small dark red nectar spoons, and can develop a bright red coloring in full sun. πβ¨ It forms nice clump colonies and blooms scent-less, bell-shaped white and pink flowers any time of year. Minor is considered one of the hardier, more forgiving Heliamphora species β a good pick even for growers newer to the genus.
As a highland tepui species, it prefers cool temperatures and high humidity, with bright light and consistently moist (but well-draining) substrate. This one is growing in a sphagnum and perlite mix, topped with a layer of live red sphagnum moss. π±
