"Piper Batman" (also sold as Piper sp. Batman or scientifically classified as Pterisanthes sp. West Borneo) is a highly sought-after, rare tropical vining plant famous among collector communities for its ultra-dark, moody foliage and distinct bat-wing shape 🦇 new leaves that emerge are a shiny, metallic bronze or dark brown and mature into a deep purple-red or near-black color. It is a relatively compact climber/viner native to the rainforests of Borneo. Because it is a sensitive rainforest species, it does best in a controlled environment like a terrarium, greenhouse, or acrylic growth box. Needs high humidity (70% to 90%) to thrive. Bright, indirect light to partial shade. Avoid harsh, direct sunlight which easily burns the dark leaves.
