Hoya dasyantha was first described by the botanist Ying Tsiang in 1936, with its publication in the journal Sunyatsenia. This species is native to the tropical regions of Hainan, China. It has super thick textured, sometimes bumpy leaves. The variegation on emergent leaves will sunstress under high light and the anthocyanins turn the leaves almost black. The flowers of Hoya dasyantha are star-shaped and typically white with a pink-centered corona. Chopping often reboots variegation on this plant in my personal experience.
